Bangladeshi teen wins Sony World Photography Award

A Bangladeshi photographer, Turjoy Chowdhury won the Sony World Photography Awards 2014.
The winners to the Open, Youth and National Award competitions of this year's Sony World Photography Awards were announced from more than 70,000 entries from across the world on March 18.
The three competitions were judged on a single shot and prizes range from the latest Sony digital imaging equipment to trips to London to attend the Sony World Photography Awards gala ceremony on April 30 according to the World Photography Organisation website
Turjoy Chowdhury came first in the youth environment category.
Open to photographers under the age of 20, the Youth competition uncovers emerging talent. The category winners are Environment: Turjoy Chowdhury, Culture: Anastasia Zhetvina from Russia and Portraits: Paulina Metzscher from Germany
Each winner will receive a Sony a5000 camera and will have their work exhibited as part of the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition in London in May and published in the annual book.
From the three category winners, one overall Youth Photographer of the Year will be selected and will be flown to London to collect their award on April 30.
The Sony World Photography Awards is a widely recognised global photographic awards programme.
Launched in 2008, the awards are dedicated to supporting and cultivating photographic culture.
