Scuffle over TV volume kills one in Vatva


AHMEDABAD: An altercation between two neighbours led to death of a 50-year-old man in Vatva on Saturday morning. Police have rounded up some of the accused in the case.

According to Vatva police, two residents at Shine Park in Noornagar, Vatva, had altercation over volume of a television set on Friday night. The scuffled got carried forward on Saturday morning as Sikandar Mohammad Shah and three others assaulted their neighbours Salim Khan Multani and his family members with sharp weapons and lathis.

"In the aftermath, Salim Khan, 50, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a private hospital in Maninagar for treatment. He died during treatment in the afternoon. His son Zuber Khan has filed a complaint against Mohammad Shah and three others for the incident. On the other hand, Mohammad Shah has also filed a complaint for assault against Zuber and three others. After death of Salim Khan, we have added sections for murder," said a Vatva police official.
