No govt with unelected people: Joy

Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, today stressed for formation of an all-party polls-time government and said no unelected government would be allowed to come to power.
“We are trying to hold talks with the opposition parties so that an all-party election-time government could be formed to run the next parliamentary polls resolving the long-standing political crisis of the country,” Joy said.
Blaming the BNP-Jamaat for unleashing a regime of violence and terrorism Joy said, “Terrorism will return to the country if the BNP is voted to power once again.”
The son of the premier was addressing wayside rallies at different areas of three upazilas in Munshiganj on his way to Gopalganj on a two-day visit.
He also claimed that there was not a single incident of blasts during the last four and a half years.
“We promised to root out terrorism from the country before being elected. There were no incidents of bomb attacks in the country during the regime of Awami League,” Joy continued.
Joy also claimed that the AL-led government succeeded in overcoming electricity crisis.
The poverty rate was brought down from 41 percent to 26 during the tenure of this governments, Joy said adding that if elected again, AL would work tirelessly to eradicate poverty.
He also condemned the incidents of killing during the 60-hour hartal enforced by the BNP-led 18-party combine to force the government to install a non-partisan election-time government.
