Hartal in Ctg Tuesday

BNP-flag
Main opposition BNP has called a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Chittagong district for tomorrow protesting an attack on the house of party lawmaker Mostafa Kamal Pasha where his son sustained bullet wounds.
Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, president of Chittagong city BNP unit, announced the hartal during a press conference at the Press Club of the port city today, reports our Chittagong correspondent.
The ongoing primary terminal examinations however will remain out of the purview of the shutdown, said Chowdhury, also a former commerce minister.
The 12-hour hartal will begin from 6:00am tomorrow, he added.
Iqbal Pasha Javed, the eldest son of Chittagong-16 constituency lawmaker, sustained bullet wound around 3:30pm yesterday when Awami League activists attacked his house.
The attack was carried out on an allegation that an activist of Jubo League, youth front of ruling Awami League, was held and tortured by the supporters of the MP.
“The Awami League activists fired shots into the house through the windows and Javed received a bullet in his right chest,” Engineer Belayet Hossain, general secretary of Sandwip upazila BNP, said earlier.
The condition of Javed is however stable now.
