AL Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said the government’s
pledge that it would try the culprits responsible for the killings of 74
people including 57 army officials has been implemented through the
verdict.
“It has been proved that no one can go unpunished for mutiny and killings. This trial will remain as a testimony for all other disciplined forces,” Hanif told The Daily Star in an immediate reaction to the verdict.
The AL leader said the mutiny was designed to assassinate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and to create instability in the country.
He alleged that BNP is not happy with the verdict as its men including Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintu were involved in the mutiny.
