Delhi Capitals needed 12 runs in the Super Over to win. Rajasthan Royals' Sandeep Sharma with the ball, Lokesh Rahul on strike. 2 came off the first ball, 4 on the next ball. Half the runs in the first two balls of the over meant that the pressure had eased a lot. Tristan Stubbs took a strike in the fourth ball after Rahul took a single in the third ball.

The South African batsman took no time at all. He pulled Sandeep's slower delivery outside the off-stump and blew it into the mid-wicket gallery. Delhi Capitals won the Super Over with a show of strength.

It is now common for Delhi to win when a match goes to the Super Over. Before today, 14 IPL matches have gone to the Super Over. Delhi Capitals had won all three of their matches. That trend continued in their fourth Super Over today (Delhi Daredevils played and lost once).

Today, in the match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi Capitals took the game to the Super Over courtesy of Mitchell Starc. Batting first, Delhi scored 188 runs for 5 wickets.

Rajasthan needed 9 runs in the last over to chase. Starc conceded 6 runs off the first four balls while bowling. However, he tied the match by trapping Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel for 1 run on the fifth ball and Dhruv Jurel for 1 run on the sixth ball.

Then the game went to the Super Over, where Starc gave away 11 runs with the ball. Rajasthan remained at 5 balls with two consecutive run outs. After that, Rahul and Stubbs batted well off the ball of Sandeep in the chase.

Delhi Capitals have climbed to the top of the points table with the victory in the Super Over against Rajasthan. The team has 10 points from six matches. Second-placed Gujarat Titans have 8 points from 6 matches. Rajasthan Royals are at number seven with 4 points from 7 matches.
