Shreya Ghoshal enthralls Dhaka audience

Shreya Ghoshal received the warmest of welcomes from her Bangladeshi fans, as she performed live in Dhaka after five long years on Friday. Bay Entertainment arranged the concert, Shreya Ghoshal Live in Dhaka, at Naboratri Hall of Bashundhara International Convention City.
Expectations were high, much like the prices of tickets. And when Shreya came on the stage -- welcoming the audience with an enthusiastic “Kemon Acho Dhaka?”, cheers burst out from all corners of the audience.
Setting off her performance with “Sun Zara Tu”, Shreya kept on singing her Bollywood hits “Jaadu Hain Nasha Hain”, “Bahara”, “Tu Hi Toh Meri Dost Hai”, “Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye” and “Manwa Lage”, before leaving the stage for another singer Rikesh – who proved to be quite a disappointment.
Shreya returned with “O Akash, O Polash Rashi Rashi” from “Piku”. Then she performed a few more tracks including “Nagada Sang Dhol Baje”, “Chikni Chameli”, “Tere Liye”, “Yeh Ishq Haye” and “Teri Meri” followed by a Bangla song from the film “Autograph”.
Shreya was interacting with the audience in mostly Bangla and sometimes in Hindi and English. Mentioning that Bangladesh is the place that gave birth to many acclaimed musicians and different forms of music, Shreya presented two Bangla folk songs --“Sagor Kuler Naiya” and “Sadher Lau”.
The most striking feature of Shreya's performance is the precision in her presentation. Hitting all the right notes every time she puts the microphone to her mouth, it's no surprise that the 32-year-old Bollywood singer wins the heart of audiences wherever she goes.
Her melodious voice and spontaneity spellbound everyone watching the show. Credit also goes to stage and sound crews for the brilliant sound and a very good stage design.
Those who were at Shreya's performance will remember it for a while. The Bangladeshi crowd itself added to the fervor of the evening, with unending rounds of applause, madness, and singing along with the singer: it's what makes listening to music live so special, and it was an evening well spent for all of us, soaked in Shreya's heartfelt melodies.
