A Narayanganj court today sentenced Rafiur Rabbi, convener of
Santrash Nirmul Mancha, to one year’s imprisonment and fined him Tk 2.10
crore in a case filed for cheque fraudulence.
After delivering the judgement, Judge Mamunur Rashid of Narayanganj Additional District and Sessions Judge's Court issued arrest warrant against Rabbi as he was shown fugitive in the case.
A businessman, Jalal Uddin, filed the case accusing him of cheating over two cheques worth of Tk 25 lakh and Tk 30 lakh in April, 2012, reports our Narayanganj correspondent.
Rabbi is the father of Tanwir Muhammed Taqi who was killed by miscreants on March 8, 2013.
