At least five fishermen went missing as a fishing boat capsized after being hit by a tourist ship at Bangla Channel in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar this afternoon.
Several trawlers were sent to rescue the missing fishermen, Abu Taher, president of Teknaf Fishing Boat Owners Association.
The accident took place between Teknaf and Saint Martin’s Island around 3:30pm, he told our Cox’s Bazar correspondent.
Sea Truck, a ship of Care Sindabad, on its way to Teknaf from Saint Martin’s Island hit the fishing boat, leaving all five fishermen missing, said Sub-Inspector Delwar Hossain, in-charge of Saint Martin’s Police Camp.
