Hanif removed

Hanif, also a joint general secretary of Awami League, told The Daily Star over telephone at 6:30pm today that he had applied to the prime minister seeking relief from the position to get involved with the process of the next parliamentary elections.
Earlier this month, Awami League insiders said that following an exchange of words over his running in the next parliamentary elections, Sheikh Hasina has relieved Hanif of his duties.
Even though there was no official notification from the Prime Minister’s Office in this regard, several Awami League sources confirmed Hanif’s removal.
