Porimoni Valentine's Day Song

Porimoni is set to amaze the audience with her moves in a Valentine's Day song in Shah Alam Mondol's film “Apon Manush”. The director has informed that the filming of the dance number has taken place in Dhaka's Kochi-Kachar Mela.
The model turned actress made her debut earlier this year with the film “Bhalobasha Shimaheen” and was well received by the audience as one of the up and coming actresses in the industry. She also appeared in the film “Rana Plaza”, the release of which has not been confirmed yet due to issues with the censor board. She is set to star opposite Bappi Chowdhury in “Apon Manush”, which is being produced by Emon Khan Films.

Amin Khan stepped into the industry with the film “Obujh Duti Mon” by Mohammad Hossain in 1992. The celebrated actor is now stepping into the role of a producer by setting up his company Icon Entertainment, and he plans to have Mahiya Mahi as the female lead in his first film.
He has already signed on Mahiya Mahi, Asif and director Malek Afsari for his upcoming debut film production. When asked about the actors, the hopeful producer stated that Asif is relatively new to Mahi's superstar status, but he believes in creating opportunities for new faces in the industry.

Ritwik Kumar Ghatak, the man behind the creations like “The Golden Thread”, “The Cloud-Capped Star”, ”Titas Ekti Nodir Naam” was born on this very day in 1925.
Born in Dhaka, he became a renowned Bengali filmmaker and script writer. He was one of the famous trio who charted independent trajectory of parallel cinema, as a counterpart to the mainstream fare of Hindi cinema. The other two were Satyajit Ray and Mrinal Sen.
Ghatak received many awards in his career, including National Film Award's Rajat Kamal Award for Best Story in 1974 for his Jukti Takko Aar Gappo and best director award from Bangladesh Cine Journalist's Association for Titash Ekti Nadir Naam. The Government of India honoured him with the title “Padma Shri” for Arts in 1970.
Ghatak was not only a film director, but also a theorist. His views and commentaries on films have been parts of scholarly studies and researches.
Film making was not only a form of art for him. It was a mean of serving people. His cinema is primarily remembered for its meticulous depiction of social reality.
This filmmaker’s glorious contribution in Bengali Film making as well as our society remains unmatched till this day. We wish him a very Happy Birthday
