Yash Raj Films has reportedly roped in Hrithik Roshan for a new action thriller franchise on the lines of Dhoom

It's literally going to be Dhoom Again for Hrithik Roshan, just like the song. In 2006, he set a new standard for anti-heroes in Bollywood with his stellar performance in Yash Raj Films' Dhoom 2, playing a thief who steals high profile artefacts and jewels, including the British crown.

And now, the actor is all set to get his own new Dhoom-like series with the production house.

Hrithik, who has proved his action credentials many times over in films like Bang Bang, Agneepath and the Krrish series, is undoubtedly up to the adrenaline-filled task.

The Dhoom films - three in total - have pitted actors Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra against anti-heroes played by John Abraham, Hrithik and, most recently, Aamir Khan. Each has been a blockbuster hit but there has been some criticism to the effect that the series is now losing its charm.

Unwilling to shelve a winning formula, YRF boss Aditya Chopra has reportedly sanctioned a mega-budget series for Hrithik whose first Yash Raj project was 2002's Mujhse Dosti Karoge! The first of the films will be directed by Dhoom: 3's Vijay Krishna Acharya.

YRF is reportedly waiting for the dates of Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo Daro, which stars Hrithik in the lead role, to be decided before they formally announce the project.

Meanwhile, Hrithik will have no film releasing in 2015 as he will be busy shooting Mohenjo Daro, which also stars debutante Pooja Hegde, and then the YRF film. Mohenjo Daro will, however, occupy most of Hrithik's time as he will be required to learn and speak a language which doesn't exist anymore.

Needless to say, 2016 may just turn out to be a blockbuster year for Hrithik.

Perth: World No. 1 Serena Williams needed a shot of coffee to regain her best form during her opening match at the mixed teams Hopman Cup at the Perth Arena on Monday. -
Perked up by a cup of coffee at the end of the first set, Williams recovered from a disastrous start to defeat Flavia Pennetta as the United States beat Italy 3-0 in their Group A tie.
Williams had her hands full with 12th-ranked Pennetta in the early stages of her first singles match of the new year. Pennetta raced through the first set in just 19 minutes, winning 6-0. After the fifth game, a weary Williams asked an amused chair umpire if she was allowed have an "espresso" coffee delivered to her courtside.
At the end of the set, Williams received the coffee and it had an immediate impact, as she broke the drought by winning the first game of the second set. Williams then kicked into gear, rattling off the last 10 games of the match in an early-season reminder of her brutal power.
The American won 0-6, 6-3, 6-0 and said she needed something to perk her up, having only arrived in Perth on Saturday. The 33-year-old praised the "miracle" of coffee after the turnaround.
"I am a coffee drinker and I didn't have mine this morning and I was just feeling it so, I had to get some coffee in me," she said.
"I told them to just give me a shot of espresso. I asked if it was legal, I was like 'is it legal to have espresso' because I never did it before, but I needed some espresso and I needed to wake up, it's the jet lag."

India announced a 15-member squad for the World Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The defending champions start their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on February 15. India's 2011 World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh was ignored despite a hat-trick of hundreds in the Ranji Trophy. (Highlights of Selection Meeting)
The likes of Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma were obvious selections. The selectors gathered in Mumbai for a much-anticipated meeting to announce the squad on Tuesday.
Rookie left-arm spinner Akshar Patel got his maiden World Cup berth while Stuart Binny, who holds the best bowling figures by an Indian in ODIs, also made the cut. India chose to stick with the experienced Ishant despite suffering an injury which ruled him out of the SCG Test.
There were questions on Jadeja's fitness, who is currently nursing a shoulder injury. Physio Nitin Patel, who supervised Jadeja's fitness at the new BCCI center in Chennai, submitted a progress report to the selectors. The Saurashtra all-rounder had returned home after sustaining an injury in the Test series in Australia. There was uncertainty over his availability for the showpiece event, raising hopes for an out-of-favour Yuvraj.
Yuvraj was not named in the 30-man probables list. BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said Yuvraj's name was discussed in the meeting along with several other players. Many names apart from the probables were also considered, the BCCI said on Tuesday.
Patel said Jadeja's rehabilitation program was going along well and he should be completely fit in 10 days. The selection committee had a detailed discussion with the physio Nitin Patel.
India, the No. 3 ODI side in the world, are clubbed in Pool B with South Africa, Pakistan, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland and the United Arab Emirates.
